Brie Gutmann
Marketing Director
Brie Gutmann is the Marketing Director – East (Lead) on Nexant’s Utility Services Marketing team and located in our Hinsdale, IL office. With 18 years of professional marketing and project management experience, she has the know-how and fortitude to manage customer experience strategies. Brie collaborates with Nexant clients to understand and implement everything from individual programs to full suites of residential, commercial, and industrial programs. She also provides significant support to Nexant’s national marketing team and their utility energy program creative market engagement strategies and initiatives.
Areas of Expertise
Marketing Strategy and Management: Directing public relations and outreach campaigns in accordance with brand and identity guidelines through digital, email, web, social, print, direct mail, and grassroots delivery channels.
Project Management: Managing project scope, timeline, and budgetary goals; ensuring project quality; overseeing staff; and working directly with service providers, vendors, and clients.
Program Strategy Specialties: Specializing in go-to-market strategies for residential, small business, complex commercial/industrial, and renewable energy programs—influencing both behavioral and financial procurement decisions.
Representative Project Experience
Brie leads the marketing and communications team in supporting trade ally and service provider networks, and targets end-use customers and the organizations that support them. Specialties include market research; project management; brand marketing; customer engagement; analyzing program trends; creating messaging; advertising; user success stories; event promotion; and customer journey mapping. Brie has worked with numerous utilities nationwide to develop and implement go-to-market strategies for energy programs, including ComEd, Vectren, Danville Utilities, and Santee Cooper.
Santee Cooper – Solar and Energy Efficiency Programs
Brie provides strategic marketing guidance for Santee Cooper’s Solar Home and Solar Business programs, as well as their suite of energy efficiency programs. In this role, she consults with Santee Cooper on program marketing collateral, and develops trade ally communications, surveys and newsletters, participant follow-up, promotional events, website support, as well as overall trade ally and community outreach strategies.
Danville Utilities – Home$ave HVAC program
Brie provides trade ally network and community outreach strategies and works with the Nexant team to develop contractor meetings, e-newsletters, and trainings. In addition, she provides the overall strategic direction on numerous print and digital campaigns, customer brochures, forms, catalogs, and strategic program promotional materials for the Home$ave program.
Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) – Small Business Program
As Marketing Manager, she currently supports the dedicated program marketing staff and go-to-market strategies. Brie works with the team to increase energy savings and concept new solutions to gain additional partnerships and customer participation. Brie strives to always think out of the box and bring cutting edge, customer centric marketing implementation strategies to the team.
Dominion – Low Income and Appliance Recycling Programs
Brie provides marketing strategy services for the three low income programs (VA and NC), as well as oversees the advertising and marketing efforts for the Appliance Recycling Program.
ComEd – RCx Programs
These retro-commissioning (RCx) programs are available to facilities greater than 50,000 sq ft in the Chicago metro areas. The programs offer fully-funded building analysis, study, and measure implementation support. As Marketing Representative, Brie oversees the program marketing staff and tasks, including outbound calling and email campaigns, service provider promotional support, and strategy development—including the development of a customer case study video, new outreach campaigns, and updated marketing strategies. As Marketing Manager, she currently supports the dedicated program marketing staff and go-to-market strategies.
